Home » About NCAC » Quality Assurance in Children's Services » About FDCQA About FDCQAFamily Day Care Quality Assurance (FDCQA) is based on 6 Quality Areas and 30 Principles that summarise and define quality in family day care. These Quality Areas and Principles guide the scheme in maintaining and improving the quality of their child care practices. They also provide the framework by which quality is measured as the scheme passes through the 5 Steps of FDCQA. FDCQA is an Australian Government initiative and was launched in July 2001. FDCQA is part of the Government's commitment to ensuring that all children in child care have high quality care that best promotes their learning and development in the vital early years. For the purposes of FDCQA, a family day care "scheme" includes the carers, coordination unit staff and management involved in delivering family day care services within a particular area or program. |
