FDCQA Quality Practices Guide (2nd edition, 2004)
The Quality Practices Guide is the main document to be used by schemes progressing through FDCQA. The Quality Practices Guide is specifically for coordination unit staff, carers, management and families who are participating in their scheme's Accreditation process. The Quality Practices Guide details the 6 Quality Areas and 30 Principles of quality care.
Extracts of the FDCQA Quality Practices Guide (2nd edition, 2004), which contain Preambles for each Quality Area, are also available into 21 community languages. FDCQA Handbook (3rd edition, 2006)
The Handbook contains background information on FDCQA and an overview of the steps involved in achieving Accreditation. The Handbook is primarily for coordination unit staff, carers, families and management as well as students and others interested in FDCQA. This document has been updated to reflect changes to the way in which Validation Visits will be conducted and includes information regarding Spot Checks and Compliance Requirements for family day care schemes participating in FDCQA.
The FDCQA Handbook (3rd edition, 2006) is currently available in English only.

FDCQA Self-study Report (2nd edition, 2004)

The Self-study Report is the working document to be used by the scheme to rate each Principle and record evidence of practices across the 6 Quality Areas. The Self-study Report will be completed by the scheme coordinator, staff and carers and is submitted to NCAC at the required time. A copy of the Self-study Report will be sent to the scheme three months prior to its submission date.

FDCQA Validation Report (2nd Edition, 2004)

The FDCQA Validation Report (2nd Edition, 2004) is the working document used by the Validator to observe practice in the scheme at Step 3: Validation. The Validator validates the scheme's practices against the standards outlined in the FDCQA Quality Practices Guide. The Validation Report is submitted to NCAC by the Validator following the scheme's Validation Visit.
